Central Library
The Central Library is situated in one corner of the Citizens Culture Park. In addition to its collection of about 386,000 books,it has videotapes and other materials to meet citizens' various learning interests. It also plays the role of an infomation center in this media-oriented society by enabling ctizens to use Intermet.
Museum
The museum,modeled after an Ainu house,offers a good opportunity to study the local nature,history and culture.
It displays and preserves historical materials, and conducts research as well as providing lectures on various subjects.
Science center
It is today's social demand that children, the future leaders of the 21st century, enjoy learning science. Not only children,but adults can enjoy themselves in this center which holds exhibits concerning astronomy, electricity and physics,and facilities including a scientific display room, experimental room, workshop and planetarium.
